I’m actually concerned for boys who complain about how different girls look without makeup. Like did you think eyeshadow permanently alters a girls eyelid? Are you frightened when people change clothes

Babies have no concept of object permanence

kill the current notion of villains needing to be human at the end of the day.

bring back villains that killed because they enjoyed blood on their hands.

give me villains that destroy cities because of boredom.

give me narcissistic villains that destroy others because they never compare to themselves.

give me bad guys that no one wants to empathise with.

2014 is a year where you can use memes from 2007 to make casual political statements and I’m really glad I’m alive to see this

I really like it when kid’s movies do this sort of thing and manage to make it seem natural and not at all forced to be like “edgy” or whatever.

and the parents’ associations got mad that the football player is gay…

True story my therapist told me it is 100% natural and healthy to have attachments to fictional characters, especially strong hero types because they may have flaws but in the end they always save the day and some people just need that constant positive force in their life.

You don’t understand how perfect this is.

I am not Mike Brown. I am white. I am middle class. I am female. I am small. I am not considered a threat. When police see me they see someone who looks like them. They see their mothers, their daughters, their sisters, themselves. I am not at risk of being shot by police for existing while black. I am not at risk of being shot while unarmed. I am not at risk of being shot while armed with nothing more than a BB gun. I am not at risk of being shot for reaching for my wallet. I am privileged.
But I am outraged. And if you aren’t outraged, then you aren’t paying attention. This is America in 2014. This is our reality. It’s so easy to get jaded and to ignore these atrocities, to act like this doesn’t affect us. It’s so easy to get apathetic. In the past it was the youth who protested. Where is the rage of the youth? Where is our rage?
Like I said, I am not Mike Brown. But I am outraged.
